The Northwest Railway Museum resides in the grand Snoqualmie Depot, constructed in 1890.  Learn about northwest railway history inside the Depot, at a nearby exhibit hall, and at the collection of locomotives, freight cars, and passenger cars in town.  Culminate your visit aboard a five-mile train ride in a historic rail coach that provides a unique view of Snoqualmie Falls.

The arrival of the Seattle, Lake Shore, and Eastern Railway stimulated much of the development of Snoqualmie.  The transportation and its associated commerce brought settlers and tourists, and supported the development of the logging industry.

Over the decades, the Depot structure underwent many modifications and “improvements” such that it lost its original appearance and glory.  In 1981 its final railroad owner – Burlington Northern – donated the Depot to the Northwest Railway Museum which then restored it to its original grandeur.  It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
