The Sidney Museum and Arts Association, a nonprofit organization founded in 1970, is dedicated to preserving local history and promoting arts. SMAA established and maintains the Sidney Art Gallery , the Sidney Museum and the Log Cabin Museum in Port Orchard, WA.

The Sidney Museum is located on the second floor of the Sidney Gallery building.  Built in 1908, it was the first Masonic Temple building in Port Orchard.  The Sidney Museum includes a general store, school, doctor's office and hardware store.  The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Log Cabin Museum is located at just up Sidney at 416 Sidney Avenue.  Built in 1914, it houses the "Orchard Family" and shows life in early Port Orchard.  The Log Cabin Museum is open from May to September, Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (and always by appointment).  The current exhibit is set in 1914 where the Orchard family is at home.  Lewis is in the kitchen with one of the Grumble Brothers discussing a still, Emelia and daughter Emily are in the living room admiring a new sewing machine while son Charles is at the piano.  Grandmother Orchard is upstairs getting her hair done.  And Teddie is surprising well behaved.

The Sidney Art Gallery
Located a block up the hill from downtown Port Orchard and the marina, the Sidney Art Gallery is a terrific place to find artistic treasures by renowned and emerging artists.
The Gallery features a monthly exhibition of works of Northwest artists, from brilliant stained glass to nostalgic watercolors. Creative gifts are offered for all occasions: original paintings, prints, pottery, sculptures, wood carvings, metal and iron work, blown glass and jewelry.
Housed in the town's original Masonic Hall, the Gallery is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
